World Mission

St Andrew’s support mission in Oxford and around the world to see lives transformed by Jesus.

How you can support missions

You can encourage and support our Mission Partners in many ways, including:

  • Giving financially to their work, especially during the church’s annual World Mission Week. During the rest of the year, money is allocated to mission from our general fund.

  • Praying for them and their ministries. You can ask to receive regular updates by email or post.

  • Caring and connecting with them by calling them, sending them a link to a sermon or even a birthday card!

World Mission Sunday 17th May 2026

This year, we are hoping to raise £20,000 to split between the following two projects:

  • Bible translation in Nigeria with Wycliffe Bible Translators/SIL Nigeria. Bata is a language spoken in areas of Adamawa state in northeastern Nigeria and in parts of the Cameroon Republic. Approximately 50% of the population of Adamawa state are Muslim and 40% are Christian. Please consider giving financially to this translation project to enable the Bata communities to receive the Scriptures in their heart language.

  • Investing in the next generation of Arabic Christians with IFES. Thousands of students across the Arab world are hungry for materials that will deepen their faith and sharpen their discipleship — but quality Christian resources in Arabic are scarce. One key project this year is the translation of the next 10 volumes in the Bible Speaks Today commentary series, in time for the Cairo Book Fair in early 2027. £10,000 from St Andrew’s will ensure that at least half of these go to publication, so that these books can help shape the next generation of Christian leaders.

You can find more information about these two projects by viewing these videos.
