Persecuted Church
UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS - Article 18
"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."
This was agreed to by all nations upon the signing of the Charter of the United Nations in 1945. It is a requirement of joining that organisation. Unfortunately, many countries do not observe this article, persecuting Christians for their faith in Christ.
There are links to websites for agencies working with the Persecuted Church for you to find out more information.
We meet together once a term to pray for the Persecuted Church - the dates are announced on the calendar and in the church newssheet. If you would like to join us for our next prayer meeting, please come along! Further details on the newssheet.
