Late Service

The Late Service is a space for creative contemplative worship, generally taking the form of a Taizé Service (see below), that of another community (such as Iona, Northumbria), or following the trail blazed by the Alternative Worship movement.

The service begins at 8pm and lasts about an hour. All are welcome.

Taizé Worship

The simple form of worship that emerged from the Taizé community's common life forms the core of what these services are about: simple songs; words of scripture; silence all come together to weave a beautiful time of corporate prayer, helped with the use of simple visual aids such as a cross, candles and icons.  The worship emerged out of the Taizé community's desire to enable the hundreds of thousands of people who come each year to spend a week or so with them to pray together as one.
For more information about the Taizé community, see their website.
